Pinango was knocked down in the 7th round, but got up to floor Skosana in the 7th round. Skosana was badly cut over the left eye in the 8th round. In the final round Pinango had Skosana out on his feet, leading to the bout almost being stopped, before the WBA's doctor signaled the fight could go on. Pinango then went in to drop Skosana for the knockout with a left.
