Much of the early California record is courtesy of the research of Chuck Johnston.

In 1925, Bert Tribbey was managed by Chuck Snyder.

According to an application in digital form in the U.S., Headstone Applications for Military Veterans, 1925-1960 database of Ancestry.com, one Bert M. Tribbey was born on November 28, 1899 and died on January 6, 1958. He enlisted in the "NG" (National Guard?) in Marshfield, Oregon on August 12, 1916 and served in Battery E, 65th Artillery, CAC, U.S. Army before being honorably discharged on February 28, 1919. Tribbey was buried in the Ivy Lawn Cemetery in Montalvo, California. Note- Ivy Lawn Cemetery is now located in Ventura, California, which may mean that it was later annexed to the that nearby city.

According to the U.S., City Directories, 1822-1995 database on Ancestry.com, one Bert M. Tribbey worked as a psychiatric technician at Camarillo State Hospital and resided with his wife, Virginia, in Camarillo, California. Note- A number of former fighters were patients at Camarillo State Hospital, including Ad Wolgast, Terry Kellar and Frank Fields. It is probable that Fields became a patient in the hospital after Tribbey died.
