Bobby Leyvas was a mix of Pima (from his father), and Papago, Luiseno, and Pima from his mother. Leyvas at his best was a world class fighter-he defeated World Flyweight Champion Small Montana, World Bantamweight Champion Manuel Ortiz, World Bantamweight Champion (as recognized by Australia) Star Frisco. He also defeated top flight fighters like Pablo Dano, Young Tommy, Al Spina, Speedy Dado, Pete DeGrasse. Fought Henry Armstrong, Midget Wolgast, Henry Hook. A pretty formidable group to get in the squared ring with for sure. Between 1935 and 1937 Leyvas was ranked by The Ring as the third best Bantamweight in the world!
