The Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame was founded by Toronto promoter Tony Unitas in the 1960s.
Jack Harrell, who moved to Toronto from Florida in the 1970s, opened a gym called Florida Jack's that housed the second incarnation of the Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame.
Harrell died from pneumonia at age 61 in 2006. Following his death, the gym changed ownership and the Hall closed. Unfortunately, Harrell's memorabilia disappeared.
The Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame was revived in 2015.
