Charles Michael Mooney (born January 27, 1951) was the silver medalist at 119 pounds in the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, as a member of the United States team. Mooney a 25 year old married soldier in the Army at the time, did not turn professional. Mooney made the army his career, and retired in the late 1990s, with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He currently runs a boxing academy in Rockville, Maryland, and is the trainer of Heavyweights Bermane Stiverne, Darnell Wilson, Wayne Hampton, and Adele Olakanye, Alexey Zubov, Matt Korobov, and resides as of January 2006, in Laurel, Maryland.
