Dick Redmond was a boxing historian and a former member of the International Boxing Research Organization. He was the compiler of the Maine Boxing Records Book.

Redmond graduated from Portland High School in 1947, served four years in the U.S. Navy and attended Portland Junior College for two years. He received a B.A. degree from Rucker College and a Master's degree from the University of Maine.

He fought in the 1948 Golden Gloves Tournament and won the welterweight title. He lost in the finals of the New England Tournament at Lowell, MA. After his discharge from the Navy, he made a brief fling as a professional fighter.

Redmond, who along with his brothers, Dave and Jack, is a Maine Baseball Hall of Famer (the only three brothers so honored).
