Bout Summary

A close couple of rounds likely saw Lebedev with a lead as he landed the cleaner punches and was more active than Maccarinelli. A slight cut opened on the bridge of Maccarinelli's nose in Round 2. A counter left hand stung Maccarinelli at 1:14 of Round 3 and sent him retreating. Lebedev came forward and threw against a defensive and bloodied Maccarinelli. A clean right hand snapped back Maccarinelli's head and staggered him. Lebedev came forward and landed three consecutive left hands which led the referee to step in and wave an end to the bout. Maccarinelli's right eye was almost completely swollen shut by the time of the stoppage.
