"Ernie Lopez of Las Vegas, Nevada, the 5th ranking welterweight in the WBA standings, knocked Musashi Nakano down three times and then stopped him 47 seconds into the 3rd round of a scheduled 10 round bout Tuesday night. The husky Lopez stopped Nakano with a right to the body after dropping him once in each of the first three rounds, each time for a mandatory eight count. Nakano opened the 2nd with a furious attack and knocked the American down with a left to the body. Lopez bounced right back, dropped the Japanese late in the round, sent him down again moments after the bell for the 3rd round, then put him away." -Associated Press
