Linwood Hurd 138 lbs drew with Julio Dejesus 138 lbs by MD in round 4 of 4

On the under card to Teon Kennedy versus Alex Becerra at Bally's Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, junior welterweights Linwood Hurd of Atlantic City and Julio DeJesus of Franklinville, New Jersey, battled to a hard fought majority draw. In a nonstop action toe-to-toe center of the ring war, both fighters traded left and right hand leads and power shot bombs for all four rounds. DeJesus appeared to throw slightly more punches by volume, but Hurd went at DeJesus aggressively for all for rounds and the two fighters gave everything they had and both tried to win. In a close action bout difficult to score, two of the judges had it two rounds DeJesus, two rounds Hurd, which appeared correct. One judge gave DeJesus all four rounds, earning boos from the crowd. However the critical moment in this bout occurred in the third round, when DeJesus stumbled and one of his gloves touched the floor, correctly ruled a slip by referee David Franciosi. Keen ruling, because if it were ruled a flash knockdown, Hurd would have won a split decision. Ringside observers agreed Franciosi got it right. Linwood Hurd trained by Arnold Robbins, trainer of Shamone Alvarez and Patrick Majewski. Excellent matchup by promoter J. Russell Peltz.
