For the first three rounds Hernandez was in the lead by virtue of his punching flurries. But in the fourth Pedro suffered a "cut" (?) wich Wilson proceeded to massage with his right thumb. Hernandez protested to the referee, with the claret pouring over his face, but the damage was done. From that round on it was all Wilson.

Expert handling by Charley Goldman and "Pop" Hanbury kept the cut over Hernandez's eye from bothering him too much. In the ninth, Pedro came back with a punching attack, but it was too late.
