Joe Baksi 215 lbs beat Freddie Schott 211 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10

Having an edge in almost every department, Joe Baksi had no trouble in scoring a unanimous 10-round decision over undefeated Freddie Schott, judges Jack Gordon and Harold Barnes, and referee Frankie Fullam all tabbing it the same way, 8-2. There were no knockdowns in the brawl, which was much tamer than most of the customers expected. A crowd of 12,400 came out to see the final fistic card of the year in the Eighth Avenue arena, and they paid $48,291. The closest the fight bugs came to witnessing a knockdown was in the fifth, which Baksi won from coast-to-coast. Joe jolted Freddie with two long rights to the head, followed with a smashing right uppercut to the jaw and had Schott reeling against the ropes from a body barrage at the bell. That was Baksi's best round. He had Freddie tired and ready for the kill, but Joe preferred to take it easy, banging away at the body. New York Daily News. (PHOTO Baksi (L) Schott (R)).
