Photo of old-time boxers taken circa 1940s at Floyd 'Red' Taylor's home, Santa Clara, California. Includes: Floyd 'Red' Taylor (2nd from left), Jockey Joe Dillon (3rd from left), Willie Ritchie (4th from left), Frankie Neil (5th from left), and Jack Silver (6th from left).
Starting in 1951, Red Taylor had an annual boxing "old-timers" gathering at his home in Santa Clara, CA. Old time greats like Willie Ritchie, Frankie Neil, Dick Hyland, and others (especially from Northern California), would gather at Taylor's place every summer for the following 22 years. Taylor knew all of the old boxers from that area. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s he would gather autographs from them for his huge collection. As of 2011, that collection is possessed by boxing historian Bill Schutte.
