Zulueta closed strongly in the last two rounds, as Ryff was cut badly over both of his eyes and trying to avoid a potential stoppage by backpedaling around the ring. Ryff was effective for much of the bout with both hands, as the two fought on even terms with their left hands on the outside. However, Ryff was more effective working the body of Zulueta inside. Zulueta for his part, opted to clinch much of the time, while fighting inside. Ryff was cut over his left eye in the 4th round, and over his right eye in the 8th round. (NYT)
