Frankie Tucker was well-known during his day, according to newspaper accounts of the time, as having perhaps the only female manager in the world: his sister, Elizabeth.

Tucker started as an amateur boxer in Salt Lake City, Utah around 1913. [1]. He fought as Bud Tucker early in his career.

During at the least the year of 1918, he was serving in the United States Navy.

He was the brother of fellow boxer Lonnie Tucker. It was reported that the family was of Cherokee heritage. [2] They may have originally come to the Salt Lake City area from Kansas City, Missouri. [3]
