The Gaiety Theatre was a burlesque house in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The theatre originally opened in 1897, as the Nesbitt Theatre. It served as a favorite entertainment spot for upscale patrons in Wilkes-Barre. The venue went into decline during the 1920s, due to the public's growing interest in motion pictures. The building was destroyed by a fire on March 10, 1929.
The Theatre was used as a boxing venue in the 1910s and 1920s, and held the majority of the boxing programs in Wilkes-Barre, while the South Main Street Armory held the bigger shows featuring prominent headliners. Al Jannetti was involved in the promotion of shows during the 1920s.
