- Foreman vs. Rodrigues was part of a doubleheader shown live on HBO. After Foreman stopped Rodrigues, Mike Tyson knocked out Henry Tillman in the first round. It was Tyson's first fight since his upset loss to James (Buster) Douglas.
- Rodrigues was ranked tenth by the WBA. He was the first top ten opponent Foreman faced during his comeback.
- Foreman put Rodrigues down for the count in the second round with a four-punch combination: two left jabs, a right cross, and a left hook.
