Georgie Hansford, who had some 160 career bouts over sixteen years, was the elder brother of fellow boxer Herbie Hansford. His grave-site is in Valhalla Memorial Park, North Hollywood, California, USA.

In his early 1933 series of articles for the Bremerton Daily News Searchlight newspaper, entitled "A Decade in the Ring," Bud Ridley wrote in the final entry that in 1930, after hanging up the gloves himself, he took over management of the American Legion gymnasium at South Gate, California, where he turned out Georgie Hansford and "Irish" Danny McCoy.
