Harry Weldon

Harry M. Weldon (12.1855-27.01.1902) was a famous sporting writer, whose specialty were racing, baseball and boxing.

Weldon was born in Circleville, OH. Some time about 1880 he moved to Cincinnatti and started working at Cincinnati Enquirer, as a city reporter. In 1883, after the retirement of the previous sporting editor J. B. McCormick ("Macon"), Weldon was promoted to the vacancy. He was acknowledged one of the foremost experts of boxing during late 19th century.

He was stricken with paralysis on February 25, 1900.
