Notes
- "Henry Cooper, 198 1/4, punched his way back to the British heavyweight championship Tuesday night by outpointing defender Jack Bodell, 206 3/4, in a 15 round bout. Cooper put Bodell down for counts of '2' in the 9th and the 11th rounds. He used his powerful left hook over and over again to dominate the fight at indoor Wembley Stadium." -Associated Press
- Cooper had given up his British title in protest to the BBBC's refusal to recognize a proposed world heavyweight title fight between he and WBA champ Jimmy Ellis as for the world title. Subsequently, Bodell had won the vacant British title by beating Carl Gizzi.
