Buck was a nephew of Bucky Boyle, he later fought in the early 1930s as Billy (Buck) Boyle, leading to confusion of the two records. It appears that Bucky Boyle retired in 1929 after a Christmas Day loss at Cambria A.C.. Buck served in the Navy Seabees during World War II, and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands.
