Career Overview

Tracey "Chubby" Steel was a "big" attraction on promotions by Chris Dundee in the mid 1970s. Steel was 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighed between 290-310 pounds.

He first appeared on the undercard of the June 3, 1975 match between world lightweight champ Roberto Duran and Jose Peterson. Duran KO'd Peterson in one round of a non-title match, and the 306-pound Steele was stopped in the 2nd by 200-pound James Edwards.

In a rematch, Edwards again stopped Steel in 3 rounds.

Steel had a few more bouts and then retired.
