- Jarrell Miller had a three-year, undefeated kickboxing and MMA career prior to boxing professionally. Miller began kickboxing at the age of 15, turned pro at 18 under the name Jarrell "King" Miller and traveled throughout the United States and Europe securing an 18-0 record.
- As a boxer, Miller was a New York Golden Gloves finalist and has worked as chief sparring partner for both Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko.
- In 2014, Miller was suspended for nine months by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) for testing positive for the banned substance methylhexaneamine (dimethylamylamine).
- Miller failed another doping test seven weeks prior to his bout against Anthony Joshua, for the banned ‘muscle growth’ substance ‘GW1516’. The fight was cancelled and Miller was revoked of his New York boxing license. [2]
- Miller failed a second drug test prior to his fight against Anthony Joshua - this time for Human Growth Hormone (HGH) & later reportedly failed a third drug test prior to the fight for ‘EPO’ and ‘GW1516’ again.
