From 1961 to 1963, Jerry Forte engaged in over 30 (3 round) exhibitions against some of New England’s best amateurs and pros, sometimes giving away as much as 80 pounds. Some of the fighters he engaged were Ronnie DeCost, Gene Fosmire, Paul Christie, Eddie Lee, Paul Raymond, and Norman Kirby.

- March 27, 1961 - Not able to compete for 112 lb NE AAU Final due to damaged hand suffered in the victory over Carlos Zayes.
- January 25, 1962, vs Armand Desrosier. The February 1, 1962, Boston Record American wrote, "These two 112 pounders put on a slam-bang three-round scrap in their first meeting and the consensus of the crowd felt that Forti was robbed with an unpopular decision."
- February 1, 1962, vs Armand Desrosier. Forte lost a closely contested split decision.
- February 25, 1962 - Unable to compete in National Golden Gloves Tournament due to severe cuts sustained over both eyes in defeating Herbert Oliver in the New England Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions. Boxing Commission doctor Lou Rashin advised against Forte boxing for at least a month. Ray Jutras, who Ford defeated for the Greater-Lowell Golden Gloves title, replaced him and went on to win the inaugural 112 pound National Golden Gloves Championship in Chicago, Illinois, on March 7, 1962.
