Jimmy Paul 135 lbs beat Robin Blake 134 lbs by TKO at 2:14 in round 14 of 15

Bout Summary

Paul knocked Blake down once in the ninth round and once in the twelve round and punished him from then on to retain his IBF crown in what turned out to be a lopsided bout. Not only did Paul beat Blake, he dominated him from the first bell, piling up points before landing a combination, highlighted by a thudding right hand, in the 14th round that made Blake turn his back and walk away. Referee Joey Curtis moved in to stop the bout at 2:14 of the round.

  • Paul received his world title shot two months prior as a replacement against Harry Arroyo (26-0) after Blake pulled out citing an injury to his left hand.
