Notes
- Parker was originally scheduled to defend his title against Hughie Fury, however on October 23 it was announced Fury received a lower back injury.[1] Fury dropped out two weeks before the scheduled bout. WBO president announced on twitter "As of today, it seems there will be no WBO Heavyweight World Title fight in New Zealand... It seems the problem lies with Team Fury".
- Cojanu announced as Parker's replacement on April 26.[2][3][4]
- The event was originally scheduled to be held at Spark Arena (formerly known as Vector Arena) the same place where Parker won his first WBO World title, however due to an opponent change and sponsors pulling out, the event was moved to the Vodafone Event centre.
- Razvan Cojanu ranked 14th in WBO and 78th on Boxrec, took the fight on 12 days notice.
- This is the third time in history that a major world title took place in New Zealand, behind Joseph Parker vs Andy Ruiz Jr (2nd time) and Kali Reis vs Maricela Cornejo (1st time).
