The reason for the Ken Goff Memorial Boxing Classic is to keep the memory of Ken Goff alive. The two people that make it a success year after year are George Goff, son of Ken Goff, and Pat Fiacco, Mayor of Regina. Pat was an athlete that had boxed under Ken for many years and had a lot of respect for him. Pat once said, "Ken was my boxing coach, my mentor; a positive influence in my life and most importantly, my friend."

The goal of the Boxing Classic is to have the Canadian Boxing Team box against another country each year.
