Kevin McBride represented Ireland in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain. On June 11, 2005, McBride scored the most important victory of his professional career, when he defeated Mike Tyson on a 6th round TKO, after Tyson retired on his stool before the 7th round. McBride was stopped in two rounds by Mike Mollo in 2006, and was stopped again by Andrew Golota in six rounds in 2007. After several years of inactivity, McBride came out of retirement but failed in a comeback on July 10, 2010, losing an eight round decision to Zack Page at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, New York.
