Notes
- In hometown Belfast, Frampton dominated the bout with clean pinpoint jabs and body shots all night. A power right hand put Martinez down in fifth round for a 10-8 Frampton round. The 19-0 Frampton wins the IBF Super Bantamweight crown. One judge gave Martinez three rounds. Not a close bout though it went the distance.
- Defending IBF super bantamweight world champion Kiko Martinez warned by referee Steve Gray for throwing a punch at Frampton on the canvas, after Frampton accidently slipped to the canvas in the fifth. Martinez could have been penalized points or disqualified in the bout by the referee for the flagrant infraction-but was not.
- This bout was a rematch of the Frampton versus Martinez 2013 bout, won by Frampton by TKO in the ninth round. Martinez did better only in the sense he survived to go the 12 round distance. Perhaps Martinez won the tenth round, as he appeared to be the busier fighter in that round. Martinez came forward and applied pressure the entire night, but Frampton landed the punches for the most part, neutralizing the Kiko Martinez game plan.
