- Southpaw heavyweight Maurice Byarm AKA 'Freight Train' is the son of cruiserweight Lionel Byarm.
- Maurice Byarm is best remembered for having lost to the then undefeated Russian fighter prospect Magomed Abdusalamov, whose career later ended due to sustaining permanent brain injury in the ring in 2014 after losing in Madison Square Garden to Cuban fighter Mike Perez.
- Despite Maurice Byarm wearing a belt in the photo above, he never held a professional belt. Maurice credibly lost to unbeaten world ranked heavyweight Bryant Jennings by 10 round decision for the vacant USA Pennsylvania State Heavyweight title in 2012 in his only belt bout.
- His father, Philadelphia cruiserweight Lionel Byarm, is best remembered for having lost a six round decision to future world cruiserweight and heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield in Holyfield's professional debut on the 1984 U.S. Olympians card in November 1984.
