Promoter in Spokane, WA, USA starting in April 1946, and continuing on until the end of 1947. He promoted under the banner of the Victory Boxing Club, which had been founded by his father Orien Gross Sr.. His brother Clayton Gross had preceded Orien Jr. as a promoter for this club, after succeeding their father. Orien and his brother Clayton both alternated as the promotional face of the operation, while the other brother would dabble in management of local interests. An example of this would be Paul Blanks, who emerged as a main event attraction in Spokane in 1947, and was managed by one brother, and promoted by the other.

The Gross family operation fell apart in late 1947, due to bad attendance, and an incident where Al Morse, who ran the most respected gym in Spokane, refused to allow Gross fighters in his gym in November 1947. Shortly after this the Gross family left the boxing game in Spokane.

Orien had served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
