Sammy Gordon was the brother of fellow boxers Abe Gordon & Solly Gordon. He was sometimes referred to as "The Fighting Jew." [1] Apparently there was another brother, Hymen, who trained them. [2]

An article in the Portland Oregonian gave his age as being 19 before his November 1922 fight with Ad Mackie.

Gordon lived in Klamath Falls, Oregon from the mid-1930s, on through at least 1957. He was reported in the Klamath Falls Herald and News as being an expert bridge player, and kibitzer.
