  • Date: 1967-06-26
  • Location: Jordal Amfi Ice Stadium, Oslo, Norway
  • In Oslo, Aruban Middleweight Sugar Boy Nando (60-36-5) took on Norwegian Johnny Romsaas (10-2-0), who was eager to get back in the race after a setback the year before. The first two rounds went to Romsaas who pressed Nando on the defensive with short biting hooks. Nando weaved and had to use all his energy to avoid damage. Then suddenly in the 3rd, Nando floored Romsaas with a sweeping left hook. Romsaas got up at 5, but was bleeding from an ugly gash on his right eyebrow.Referee Kjell Svensson stopped the fight.

For the rest of the year 1967 Nando spent much time in Norway. He fought three more times in Oslo, even appeared as competent bar- pianist in a restaurant overlooking the Oslo Fjord. With his 100 fights in a 20 year career he also became a useful trainer/ advisor to the handful Norwegian pros at the legendary localities at Dælenenga in Oslo's working class district.
