The text here needs to be clarified with the text in the Jim Coffroth page, which says, in part, that the 1914 legislation "banned boxing in California, but allowed for 'amateur' bouts over a four round limit, with the boxers being awarded medals." Was pro boxing in fact made illegal? Were $25.00 "prizes" allowed? --Ric 17:22, 6 Jan 2006 (CST)
