I remember watching this fight live on TV with a couple of my old high school buddies when I was home for the summer while in college. We were all rooting for Ken Norton and we thought it was an exciting fight. Scott LeDoux was a tough customer who always fought with a lot of heart. Although Norton was past his prime, my observation was that Norton was better than LeDoux. From my TV chair, I thought Norton carried this one all the way until he took a thumb in the eye during the eighth round and from then on LeDoux rallied (LeDoux started landing more blows and soon after Norton appeared fatigued). Moreover, LeDoux didn't quit and was persistant. Scott showed alot of heart and he kept hanging in there and fought hard to the finish to get the split-draw with Norton (although my impression was that Norton in-his-prime would have knocked LeDoux about the ring.) I regretted reading in the newspaper a short while later that Norton retired, as I have always been a big fan of Norton. Norton is a classy guy and a credit to boxing.--Big City 20:05, 13 October 2006 (CDT)
