Tommy Hicks was known to be a bleeder in the ring. After one fight, he required 75 stitches. "My eyeball was hanging out," Hicks said. "And they had to do a full layer job on the eyelid." His bout against Vinnie Curto was stopped because of heavy bleeding from a "propeller-shaped cut" to Hicks's left ear and small cuts to both eyes.
