  • An accidental head butt with Nigerian challenger Isaac Ekpo caused a cut above Tyron Zeuge's right eye in the third round.
  • With blood streaming down into the right eye of Zeuge, neutral referee Raul Caiz Jr. let the bout run. The bout continued into round 5.
  • Zeuge won rounds 4 and 5 on two of the three judges scorecards to remain ahead on all three scorecards at the time of a Technical Decision.
  • Neutral referee Raul Caiz Jr. declared Tyron Zeuge could not continue due to the blood from the cut caused by the accidental head butt.
