Bout Summary

The opening round was fought at a cautious pace with both fighters looking to counter and Harris snapping an occasional stiff jab. In Round 2, as Harris came forward to throw a right hand, the two fighters accidentally clashed heads. Harris immediately went to a knee, but got to his feet after a few seconds. Holding the side of his head, he walked away from the action and leaned over the top rope. The referee called in the doctor who directed Harris to his corner. While the doctor was asking Harris about his condition, Harris collapsed into his corner with his eyes closed. Failing to get any response, the fight was ruled a no-contest and paramedics came in an carried a largely unresponsive Harris from the ring. The television broadcast did, however, later show Vivian Harris sitting up and talking with medical personnel and his training staff.
