Under Booth he seemed to gain the confidence to throw that right hand more.TheLeprechaun wrote:PredatorHayds wrote:I would of gone along with Booth being over-rated about a year ago.
Haye was a natural talent who could of won titles with any trainer in his corner.
He got his rep for Groves from the DeGale fight. For me this was decided by DeGale switching off like he does in rounds.
Andy lee changed my opinion as I feel he has massively improved under Booth. Lee used to box and come unstuck. He's lost more rounds under Booth but he's somehow gave Lee this huge confidence in his punch and it's paid dividends.
They have over-achieved as I think his win over Korobov was really under-rated. Lees faith in booth is stronger than I've seem from a fighter in a very long time, so it's obvious he's doing something right there.
The proof in the pudding for me will be Ryan Burnett. Hugely talented but raw and in need of polishing. If Booth is as good as some believe we should see a future star and a improvement in coming fights.
For the record I thought he looked poor against Booth.
Lee has been extremely lucky. He was almost banged out by Quillen in 1. He was behind against Jackson, who got overconfident and behind against Korobov before he landed his right hook. I'll agree that his right hook is currently the best punch in boxing but he had it before Booth. Lee was dropping down to 154 only a few fights ago remember. Booth is pretty overrated but one thing he does do is take control and have his fighters fight his way. We saw what happens when Groves tried to do it all his way vs Froch.
Before Booth he wasn't knocking top level opponents out.
I don't think Booth has helped technically as we both said he's been behind in his latest fights, but mentally Lee seems stronger under Booth and that's shown in his come from behind victorys.
