Foreman boxed at London Arena, and Barrera beat Paul Lloyd at Royal Albert Hall. To my knowledge, neither Foreman or Barrera boxed at York Hall.

i was there when tapia fought as a special attraction on a allegedly undercard i think, his ring entrance was all glitz and glamour. danny romero was ringside. i managed to get tapias autograph, what a character. Ive seen a few big stars fight there over the years.

Me too! He got quite a reception.... I was a bit gutted he finished him in the first though.... I wanted to savour his skills. RIP Johnny Tapia

Yeah that was a bit strange seeing James Toney boxing at the York Hall as he was at one time p4p in the world before Roy Jones Jr beat him. Be like watching Madonna doing a gig in Romford!

Curiously neither east end favourite Terry Spinks or Billy Walker ever boxed at York hall. Maybe they were too big from their pro debut as they were well known before turning pro?

Before 1967 there was only two shows held at the York Hall, in 1934 and 1935. Spinks retired in 1962 and Walker was fighting at Empire Pool(Wembley Arena) by then.

as i said before when i see you at keele university on an NABC training course i was really impressed it seemed so easy for you martin , i've heard the same story a few times when a boxer prefered the ams to the pros i guess it goes from your hobby to work

Wow that would of been 18-19 odd year ago I'm sure on that training camp i shared a room with Steven Swails who had just beaten Ricky Hatton, as a Kid i Matured quick and although small was a very quick runner i remember beating everyone in the 800M race not any more tho lol

Even longer about 22 years I think,I was an assistant coach in reality I was just there to make up the numbers but it was a good experience for me as well.you wasn't in my group but I watched you spar and you were the best boxer there .
