I really want Browne to do this. He has done it correctly, move away from Australia and based himself in Europe sparring with real quality opponents, and getting the fights that matter.

My one concern is that he will need a KO, because of this goes to points then the home fighter will win.

Browne was preparing in Sydney up until a week ago and his main sparring partner has been Jai Opetaia.

After the fight he will be returning to Australia.

I'm really hoping the Browne can pull this off. Hoping for a change to Aussie luck in title fights of late.

Nothing would please me more than a Lucas Browne win. But it's a tough ask.

It's our last basket mate can't see any Aussies challenging for any titles on the horizon.

At nearly 37 is there anyone else who has been older that has fought for a version of a heavyweight title, at their first attempt, than Lucas Browne?

Matt Skelton was 39 when he fought Chagaev for the world title.

One bout to get out of the way before the main event - Brian Minto vs Edmund Gerber.

Browne is still a clear underdog. But some money came in for him overnight and his odds have shortened a little bit to $3, with Chagaev $1.40.

Minto came and went inside two rounds. Might be time for him to have a rethink about continuing.

Slow start for Browne. But the 3rd was a better round for him.

Controlled start from Browne, he looks sharp enough. Neither guy setting an exceptional pace.

Browne lucky to survive the round. Needs to dig deep to survive here. But has started the 7th better.

8 down and Browne still up and about. Will need to stop Chagaev to bring the belt home though.
