I hadn't booked the travel lodge yet as I am wary of The Curse of the Big Fight. I was meaning to do it soon though, so glad I am a useless coin and keep on forgetting to do important things.
I'd booked but luckily completely refundable. I can't wait for this. I'm impressed by fury for returning the favour with this stunt.

There were lower tier tickets at £500, £526 with booking fees, which is the sort of price I'd expect for VIP unless there was a top undercard.Rockys gum shield wrote:£350 for lower tier tickets!!
The prices were robbery and defo the reason this fight has been called off in my opinion, the ankle just offered up a good excuse.

I wonder where Fury got the sudden inspiration in the last day to pull out of The Big Fight?
It suspiciously sounds like another case of BREXIT.

Tyson hasn't been right at all from the very announcement of this fight, and it wasn't him doing it for the media. John disappearing, Peter being very quiet except making a stupid video, the outbursts....

Re: Fury Fight Off
BTW, amigos, Dan Rafael, the sharp boxing scribe who also works for ESPN, has reported on the network that several sources very close to the fight have told him that Fury was simply not prepared to take on Klitschko in a few weeks.
To quote, "Fury, who has partied hard, has been seen drinking in public and appeared out of shape since winning the title, even grabbing his gut at a recent press event promoting the fight."
So does Fury's ankle hurt?
Probably, but boxers suffer injuries constantly in training. Sometimes they pull out, but most often they suck it up and keep their commitment.
Because he was grossly out of shape for the fight in 2 weeks, Fury obviously decided that the tender ankle would sound like a good excuse to cancel the bout.
If he doesn't buckle down and recognize what it takes to be (and remain a champion) it's unlikely he'll consider taking on Klitschko in October.
He'll miss out on too many wild nights.

Fat Boy Dan Rafael never misses a chance to have a pop at British boxers, and should be ignored IMO.
Re: Fury Fight Off
Shame really. Fury's a strange bloke and I genuinely believe that his head just wasn't right for this one. There's an argument that he just couldn't be arsed and just decided to be awkward and mess Klitschko about, possibly as revenge for Klitschko messing him about previously with his own pullout and also the other times Fury has been really messed about (twice by haye). Maybe just using his one bit of power to be an asshole.

Your whining at a respected American journalist sounds like you acquired the sour taste in Jack Bodell's pop.Black Sam Bellamy wrote:Fat Boy Dan Rafael never misses a chance to have a pop at British boxers, and should be ignored IMO.
He used to rail about "biased" Yank writers too. Finally an American set him straight.
Jerry Quarry (KO 1) Jack Bodell.
Enjoy your newfound independence, mate.

Re: Fury Fight Off
Fury doesn't want to fight Klitsko again, I don't think he even really wants to fight again. Maybe when he's skint, in his eyes he's done his bit, achieved his goals. He beat Klitscho fair and square last time though. No one can take that away from him. Big money fight with AJ, why not? Take a beating and 10 million quid plus. That's the way he should be pushed, train and plenty of his pre fight bullshit.

Re: Fury Fight Off
Sounds very similar to a bad one I did playing football. Didn’t fall over but got my ankle hyper-extended by blocking a shot from point blank range. After 6 X-rays the doctor said there was “no damage”
Tyson is a very big fella and there’s a lot of very beautiful yet uneven places to run in the Lakes - he’ll have to be careful.
From memory mine was getting on for 3 months and probably more like 4 before I was playing again.
Sorry for the long post too but this affects the weight too. He needs to be careful what he puts away for 3 months here......steady on the Eccles cakes Tyson! GWS.

Re: Fury Fight Off
Had tickets for this and was absolutely gutted.
Become so disillusioned with the sport the last couple of months I don't give a care about the rescheduled date now and want a refund my best mate is the same. I don't think it happens in Manchester anyway.

Re: Fury Fight Off
Just curious, given the awful spectacle we got last time what were ticket holders hoping to see second time round? Presumably a more aggressive Vladimir.

Heard a rumour that there's going to be a big development tomorrow re: Fury. Not sure how legit it is but if it is true, sounds like it could be very interesting.
Re: Fury Fight Off
Apart from the boxing and injury he looks like a middle aged bloke who has gatecrashed a teenagers disco and is trying to be cool in front of his pretend mates.mickey1975 wrote:Well observed, lefty.lefty wrote:It seems like his heart isnt in it.BigRed wrote:How's that ankle tyson?? Kiltschko is a big draw in Germany - this is clearly an agreed delay to get the fight moved over there due to poor ticket sales (you know, because the British general public are too busy voting for brexit to care about a fighting gypsy warrior).
Re: Fury Fight Off
Breach of contract. It would cost him millions if he doesn't fight Wlad.lefty wrote:You're probably just being sarcastic theremickey1975 wrote:Well observed, lefty.lefty wrote: It seems like his heart isnt in it.but either way, maybe he should just pack it in if he isnt interested anymore. He must have made a decent amount of coin from the first fight that he could set himself up with but I don't know.
