Haye could be determined to be a risk but for me the money cancels that out. It’s not a risk when it’s big money or for the pinnacle ( Wlad ) It’s what he’s in the game for isn’t it?

Big John was a bit of a risk to be fair.

When you look at who he’s faced, same with Hughie, it’s been done with a bit of care and thought put in to it. No punchers stands out. It’s not the fighters themselves, it’s just the way they’ve been taken through.

As I said before, it doesn’t matter a jot as long as they’re ready when the big time comes and Tyson showed he was obviously when he beat Wlad.

It’ll be the same this time until Joshua/Wilder.
He was the underdog against Chisora...

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.badl ... ne-vs-cook

When I think of risk in boxing it’s risk about losing fights. I agree he would have been well in paid and as with the Klitschko I’m sure they weighed up the risk vs reward but I’d still say they were very risky fights.
That’s fair enough. Can be argued there’s risk in every fight given the nature of the sport.

The way I look at it though is, I’d never say Hatton took a risk fighting Mayweather or Pac. To me that’s like saying playing a World Cup final is a risky game for a football team.

My definition of a genuine risk is facing fighters who have the tools to beat you, without any significant reward. Hence why I say the Fury’s don’t really take too many risks.

Look at the fight between Breazeale and the Polish fella who’s name I forget right now. Both could have easily sat on their records, ticked over knocking over fighters who don’t pose too many problems and try to sneak their way to a title shot. Nope, they fought each other. That’s a definition of a risky fight imo.

Could be argued Whyte v Parker is a risky fight, but I think it’ll make them decent money. Whyte v Browne was risky. Look at who Tyson actually beat to get his shot at Wlad. It’s smart matchmaking to be fair, and as I say, there’s nothing wrong with it if the end result is the same. :TU:

What a farcical circus act this is. Everyone looks suitably embarrassed at the weigh in, when the magnitude of the hilariously bad match up is laid bare, with the flabby Fury sheepishly wishing he’d not insisted on facing a midget for his return.

Fury beating up this tiny fellow is going to set back his career even further, Even the hapless casuals will be recoiling in horror when they see this comedy double act unveiled tonight.

Big laughs expected.

what i dont get is surely they couldve found some cheap knockover who at least looked more the part, there are plenty guys out there like the 6'5 guy joyce is facing next

i dont think it does set fury back though, fighting is a step up on not fighting at all, but defo think they coulda got someone who isnt a comical opponent

As much as I like Fury, I agree. This will damage his reputation even further.

Vitali had 4 years out with bad injuries, was much older and fought for and won the WBC title, admittedly it was against Sam Peters, even so it was impressive.

however, Nathan Gorman v Sean Turner has potential to be a good scrap if Turner turns up. :box:

Hopefully this goes the same way otherwise I'm skint as I've piled on a Fury win in the first 2 rounds

I see that Fury is +750 to win on a first round KO and +650 to end it in the 2nd.

Nice payoff IF Fury is serious and doesn't use the fight as an extended 10 round sparring session.

Fury remains a 1-100 favorite. I think Ali was only about 1-3 choice over Quarry.

Seferi is about the same size as Quarry.

If I was to bet I'd gamble on this fight going at least 4 rounds. If Seferi is stopped it's on his feet.

I think Tyson can win when he wants, but this might mean he wants to get some rounds in and put on a show.
Seferi doesn't seem the sort to give up easy and Fury has never really been a banger.
Personally I wouldn't risk lumping on for a really early night.

Could easily be one of those quick stoppage fights, where the local favorite throws a combination, staggers his opponent and the referee immediately jumps in and calls a halt.

Nobody is going to be doing Seferi any favors.

McNeeley wasn't a 39 year old cruiserweight. Tyson is the Lineal Heavyweight Champion of the World and this is his first defence. It's a joke. DeMori and McNeeley would eat this guy alive.

Not splitting hairs but MIke Tyson had been out of the ring over 4 years by the time he fought McNeeley.

I can't criticise Fury too much for the level of opposition. He's allowed at least one gentle fight back after what he has been through.

De Mori was KOed in a round by a light heavyweight with a losing record. No way De Mori would go the distance with Charr either.

Me too. I was stunned when Ricky turned Terminator.
Was a beautiful left hook to start things off then he never let him off the hook. Place was buzzing! I've watched that fight back a few times :TU: Done a better job on Mitchell than Linares :OhYes:

I've met Mitchell a couple of times. Seemed a cool guy. Plus he wasn't trying to feed my Mrs cock at the time so that was good of him :yay:
Fair play, you can only have admiration for a man that doesn't try to feed the Mrs his cock
