We definitely did not see the same fight since I did not have a gram of “gear” shoved up an orifice or two while watching it.
FURY VS WILDER POLL
Re: FURY VS WILDER POLL
Ok, so you think that every major fight is fixed, correct?DrDuke wrote: ↑08 Dec 2018, 15:55I don't believe, that judges scored it that way because of what you've mentioned. I'm even not talking about this fight. The judging is corrupt everywhere. From how I understand the situation, the promoters directly affect judging. An organizing body makes everything. That's logical, orginizers spend huge amounts of money on their events. So they try to make their side win in order not spend all the money for nothing. Joshua is being given the edge in his fights, cause his promotion takes care about him well. De La Hoya's fighters are often well protected. Wilder always had an edge, so does he now. The judges can be international, that doesn't matter, they are hired to do their job by particular organizers. My point is, judges here, as always, has been giving the edge to the local fighter.ironbeard wrote: ↑08 Dec 2018, 14:51Fair enough. I have the polar opposite view of the fight, with the exception that I do consider the draw legit, based on my acknowledgement that there were too many close rounds that could reasonably been scored either way depending on your view of the fight and environment in which you viewed it.
The judges all have different physical perspectives of the action. That alone, in a fight with as little action as this one entailed for over half of the fight, is solid ground for legitimizing the draw, even though I felt Wilder won comfortably.
If so, how do you explain the draw card? If not for the KD in the 12th, Fury would have won a split decision with the Mexican’s card possibly 114-113.
Your argument holds no water in this case, imo.

Actually, “the vast majority” can “be wrong” and has been wrong many times in history.
The judges were provably legit. You just don’t agree with their decision. Neither do I, but I am objective enough to understand how they came to it.
Re: FURY VS WILDER POLL
I can just about understand a draw but I still think it was a ridiculous decision. I can't get my head round the other card at all.ironbeard wrote: ↑08 Dec 2018, 16:29Actually, “the vast majority” can “be wrong” and has been wrong many times in history.

I've watched the fight 4 times and Fury won with a bit to spare IMO. You're the one getting pissy about it sweetheart
Btw what are you going to do next time they ban you for being a wanker? Stick on a dress and come back as your mum
Re: FURY VS WILDER POLL
I said initially, that I believe in that. I obviously have no proof, that all those judges were paid to fix cards. But according to my belief they are paid to edge the fights, not to score them absolutely in the favor of hometown guys, cause in this case controvercy will become much bigger. So, in cases, when fights are close to the shotout, this aid won't be very helpful.ironbeard wrote: ↑08 Dec 2018, 16:02Ok, so you think that every major fight is fixed, correct?DrDuke wrote: ↑08 Dec 2018, 15:55I don't believe, that judges scored it that way because of what you've mentioned. In this particular example my prediction before the fight was that Fury would win wide objectively, but the scores would be narrowed. He was going for it, but unfortunately he blinked for a couple of times not in an appropriate moment.

The other card would not have mattered if Wilder had not one-twoed your heart throb to the edge of the abyss.Stuarty wrote: ↑08 Dec 2018, 16:33I can just about understand a draw but I still think it was a ridiculous decision. I can't get my head round the other card at all.

Re: FURY VS WILDER POLL
Fair enough. We just disagree. I am not saying that robberies do not happen. I just think that this was not an example of one. Too many close rounds in a subjectively judged sport leads to split decisions or draws.DrDuke wrote: ↑08 Dec 2018, 16:34I said initially, that I believe in that. Nah, I actually like Stuarty. We just have a minor misunderstanding now and then (and I’d refrain from shaking his hand for obvious hygiene reasons).oogiebe wrote: ↑08 Dec 2018, 17:24Much better! The man from Alabama won that fight clear as crystal. The Mexican judge had it on the nose.
Everyone has an opinion. I respect the judges’ decision, although I very much disagree with it.
