One Last Great Performance By A Legend
Re: One Last Great Performance By A Legend
I saw a great interview on YouTube talking about his career he did a while back, will link it here if I can find it again. The funny thing is that he was such a hard warrior in the ring but so softly spoken and unassuming...

Was at ringside reporting on that one, and also thompson v rothmann. Both great finishes.
Re: One Last Great Performance By A Legend
Jealous! The Rothmann fight was fantastic too, probably even better in the come from behind stakes...jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑04 Jul 2019, 18:36 Was at ringside reporting on that one, and also thompson v rothmann. Both great finishes.

Dave pariss was sat in front of me and said " carls going to get him, next shot he lands" about 20 seconds before it happened. Great night of boxing. I belive mr mcneilly was there. If memory serves.chinarich wrote: ↑04 Jul 2019, 19:02Jealous! Wilfredo Gomez against Rocky Lockridge in 1985 in Puerto Rico is one that springs to my mind - and over 15 rounds.

Wlad vs AJ, if you want to call Wlad a legend.
Re: One Last Great Performance By A Legend
Good call that. I was on the edge of my seat from the fifth round on. Brilliant scrap it was.

Leonard v Hagler
Re: One Last Great Performance By A Legend
Great call. You can debate the result all you want, but either way it's indisputable that to come back and perform the way Leonard did against that level of opposition was undoubtedly great.

I've always said that,he was retired, and welterweight and came out of nowhere to beat the much bigger and stronger long reigning champion, argue about the decision but it was certainly close enough to be called either way,a brilliant achievement in my eyes.
