Daniel Dubois vs. Joe Joyce - November 28, 2020 on ESPN+

Well, I did want to see a heavyweight jab masterclass, it just came from Joyce.lazboy wrote: ↑28 Nov 2020, 17:39 I’m predicting a DDD win. I’m hoping he relies on rhe jab. I want to see a heavyweight jab masterclass. If Joyce has a ridiculously good chin perhaps he can cause trouble for DDD down the stretch but I’m expecting DDD to be composed, as in, manage his energy output.

Both are highly overrated. Parker destroys Joyce.

JOHN FURY
I’m a little bit worried about whether it’s too early for Daniel Dubois. Joe Joyce is a big, strong seasoned man. We know he’s got a good engine and he can hold a shot well. It’s a hard one, but for my money it’s a bit too soon for Daniel Dubois
He called it.

Joyce proved me wrong! I didn't expect such chin. Credit for him for such toughness!
Joyce chin is freakish. Dub unleashed early, failed to score a KO and got frustrated.
Joyce' jab was great. He busted Dub's eye with his jab.
Dub quit because of being bossed and having a busted eye.

I didn’t see DDD land anything lethal. A couple good right hands, and respect to Joyce for taking them better than expected, but I didn’t see Dubois land any crushing shots.

Man v boy?
Joe Joyce shocks the world with head movement and a brilliant jab.

Joyce was caught with some big stuff in the 2nd and 3rd. He looked ready to go in about a couple of rounds. But he overcame it, outjabbed and bossed Dub.

Re: Daniel Dubois vs. Joe Joyce - November 28, 2020 on ESPN+
Well, I was semi-correct. Dubois couldn't drop Joyce. Joyce took Dubois best and wore Dubois down and made him cave with a busted up eye. Like I said, Joyce is one tough SOB. Hats off to him. Dubois will learn from this and come back. Joyce should be getting another major fight after this. Maybe 1 or two steps away from a title challenge. He can't wait too long, he's already 35.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑26 Nov 2020, 13:29I'd say dubois is more like, hmmm, who is he like. Too quick for bruno, not as stiff, but nowhere near the skills of Bowe.HeavyHitters wrote: ↑25 Nov 2020, 18:04 I slightly lean towards Daniel, but Joyce is one tough fighter. Dubois better be ready to fight the distance, because I don't see him knocking Joyce out unless it's a controversial stoppage by the referee without Joyce going down. Joyce reminds me of a George Foreman and Dubois reminds me of a Riddick Bowe. If Dubois stays poised and doesn't over-extend himself, he should come out with a distance victory. But if he goes for a knockout and wears himself out trying to achieve it, he might possibly run out of gas and get himself knocked out in the process.

People lambasted me for ridiculing the betting odds.
And I favoured Joyce when many disagreed.
Size and experience really does count, but people disagreed.
I was right, but they was wrong. However, the same people will ridicule me for telling them I told them so.
Sometimes you can’t win, even when you’re right!

The jab was joe's best weapon, was landing it all night, dubois just could not avoid it and it's what battered that eye and ended the fight

My eyes nearly popped out of my head, is it just me that thinks that is amazing value?Stanny Onis wrote: ↑26 Nov 2020, 12:55 I certainly wouldnt bet on it cause of Dubois' power and ram rod jab.
But my gut feeling is this is too early for Dubois and Joyce stops him late. Joyce has always been underrated but he has a brilliant stamina and workrate.
I got 3-1 for a Joyce win. I also put a wee bit on a draw at 25-1.
Haha you were looking pretty good after 9 rounds with Joyce still energetic, and a draw also looking like a distinct possibility...

Dubois' eye looked bad pretty early...like maybe round 4? But every time I thought it would affect the fight it didn't seem to, or at least Dubois never seemed to acknowledge it, and right when I figured ok Dubois is going to last the whole fight with that crazy swollen eye, suddenly it makes all the difference.

Matchbook rated Dubois’ probability of victory at 88.2% (2/15).
I bet on the underdog and won.

Had it 7-2 Joyce myself.
Re: Daniel Dubois vs. Joe Joyce - November 28, 2020 on ESPN+
Let's be honest; this doesn't mean Joyce is any good. it just mean Dubois isn't.
"Good" is relative of course. Both are superb judged against me, or normal humans, or even average pro boxers. But neither are going to trouble the international scene.

Agreed, but there’s levels. Joyce has faced better opposition and regularly spars against world-rated fighters.DrDuke wrote: ↑28 Nov 2020, 19:45And also chin.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑28 Nov 2020, 19:44 Size and experience really does count, but people disagreed.
