I always prefer to judge people on what they did rather than they didn’t. Frank’s output last year was poor and nothing so far secured for this year.

I would be thinking BT are tightening their purse strings but if you’re a fighter signed to Queensbury, would you be happy with the situation? The other networks have shows announced whilst they’re missing at least the first 2 months of the year?

Well they got a deal done in five minutes but Eddie couldn't do it in about 10 years?
Because Hearn refused to pay what they were asking for, Sky/Boxxer had no issues coughing up although after how ticket sales went maybe Eddie is regretting that slightly??

As for Fury/Joshua, we all know who shat the bed there and it wasn't Ed/AJ
Khan says Eddie offered more but he wanted it on a big platform. Who shat the bed? That judge? I might buy into the idea Arum and Fwank wanted to give Hearn the runaround, but I doubt Tyson was shitting himself. It's a very easy fight for him
Cmon mate if Fury really wanted the fight he would've made Arum make it, paying Wilder step aside was never an option, Fury preferred to fight someone he outboxed and stopped in 2 previous fights, Fury and his team never wanted the fight, you just have to listen to interviews in the build up, im not saying Fury was scared but for whatever reason the day the arbitrator makes his ruling Fury all of a sudden says the fights on, only an idiot would believe Fury never knew anything about the ruling at that point, biggest fight of his career, £70 mil, down the drain the because of his team and he was on ESPN smiling as he signed the third Wilder contract, hardly the behaviour of someone intent on becoming undisputed

Like most boxing fans I rate Fury highly but I just want him to act like a champ for once, defend his title against top opposition consistently instead of fighting meh, more often than not and fannying about with WWE and no hoper UFC heavyweights

As for calling Usyk a drug cheat 🤡

The thread was made to understand why BT haven’t announced any shows. Not sure what this has to do with it.
Yes it would be good if someone could respond to my earlier point

I think it depends on how good his contract is. Usually with airtime contracts there are get out clauses on both sides but mostly favouring the broadcaster. If DAZN buy the trade and assets of BT Sports (and not just select parts) then they’ll be liable for BT Sports contracts so if Frank has a good deal then his shows will continue. I would have thought though there would be some quality control for BT in those contracts or minimum expectations with get out clauses so they could potentially force Queensbury to improve their shows or not get any.

As I’ve said before though, the U.K. boxing on BT will be very low down their priority list. They’ll be focusing on the champions league, premier league, UFC and WWE ahead of it so Frank may get 6 months grace before any pressure is applied.

It is what it is, he's got a limited budget and limited amount of talent.
Yes, it’s got to be the budget - as he openly says in his interviews, it’s difficult for him to operate shows financially/insurance wise with so much uncertainly.

It certainly isn’t for a lack of talent though mate. He’s got a very big stable - mainly of very promising prospects. It may even be too big, but at least these kids have an opportunity in the sport, especially as many of them may have packed it in during Covid.

The Fury thing must be having an impact on his plans, so hope that gets sorted quickly either way.
I think he's distinctly lacking in headliners. Who's he got?

Dubious, Joyce, Yarde, 'Fury' are probably the only real ones. I probably missed a couple.

If they fight twice a year, that's 8 shows.

Then he has prospect shows.

But guys like Catterall can headline or co-feature, depending on who he's fighting. Zack Parker isn't a headliner If you ask me.

Frank hasn't promoted Fury's last two fights and from what I hear, when Fury fights in the states, he doesn't write the pay cheques.

Does Frank even promote Catterall anymore? I haven’t heard him mention him for a while.

Parker’s fine to headline for me. It’s good that Frank’s got him active but he needs to step up his opposition. He’s a good fighter but fighting ex light middle Marcus Morrison doesn’t prepare you for a world title fight.

He’s got other guys at British title level like Jason Cunningham, Anthony Cacace, Lennox Clarke etc. and there’s not much wrong with a really good British title fight headlining a show with a decent undercard. My favourite fight of his from last year that he promoted was the Cash/Bentley fight.

He doesn’t have many ticket sellers really. There’s little evidence that Joyce/Dubois can sell good volumes. Yarde/Arthur didn’t manage to sell out the Copperbox I don’t think in a good domestic 50/50 and Nathan Heaney can only be used so much.
