The United States government has imposed sanctions on the three most senior members of the Kinahan organised crime group as part of a co-ordinated international strategy to target transnational drug trafficking.
Daniel Kinahan, who has been named in the High Court as the controller and manager of the Kinahan gang, his father Christopher Snr, a convicted drug trafficker, and brother Christopher Jnr, who was caught travelling on a false identity document in Germany, have all been placed on an Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) list, a list of the US Treasury Department.
They are among seven members of the Kinahan gang as well as three associated businesses targeted by OFAC.
OFAC administers and enforces economic and trade sanctions against targeted international narcotics traffickers, as well as foreign countries and regimes and terrorists.
The US Department also targets those it believes are engaged in activities related to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and other threats to the national security, foreign policy or economy of the United States.
"The Kinahan Organised Crime Group smuggles deadly narcotics, including cocaine, to Europe, and is a threat to the entire licit economy through its role in international money laundering," said Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian E Nelson.
The sanctions against the Kinahan gang and its associated businesses in the UK and the United Arab Emirates mean US banks, financial institutions, companies and other organisations cannot do business with Kinahan organised crime group members and the three designated businesses.
It also means any money the Kinahans have in the US or in US banks abroad can be blocked, their credit and debit cards frozen and they cannot fly on US airlines as the airlines cannot do business with them.
The sanctions also block their property and their interests in property and impact on the Kinahan's boxing business and interests in the US.

UK and Irish governments to make announcements later.

Will be interesting to see if this changes anything with Probellum. I’m sure they’ll continue to promote in Dubai but perhaps doing shows in the U.K./US will be more difficult now. Of course everyone will claim that Kinahan isn’t part of Probellum.

Might be easier to sell that if the egotistical twat didn’t turn up in Pakistan to speak on their behalf.

Mob boss Daniel Kinahan has posed for photos with a prominent Pakistani politician – alongside former MTK boss Sandra Vaughan.
Kinahan, seen wearing glasses and looking balder than in previous years, was seen side-by-side Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti, a Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs for the Government of Punjab in Pakistan, as he desperately tries to expand his influence in world boxing.

Kinahan and Ms Vaughan, who previously tried to distance her former company from the mob boss, are seen being presented with some kind of award from Mr Bhatti, in photos posted on social media by the government minister.

This is brilliant. The fall out from it is going to be great. Get all the Kinahan buddies out of the sport. All the ones posing for photos with him, telling us how great a mass murderer & drug dealer is. Time for the board to show some balls & stop them promoting & strip their licenses.

Re: BBC Panorama - "Boxing and the Mob"
The get out clause the board will have is that the paperwork for Probellum will be fairly clean i.e. have not mention of Kinahan. I can’t see them doing anything to be honest.a force wrote: ↑12 Apr 2022, 06:10 This is brilliant. The fall out from it is going to be great. Get all the Kinahan buddies out of the sport. I can see it being harder to get big TV deals though - particularly in the U.K. and US.

$5 Million Offered For Arrest Of Boxing Promoter Daniel Kinahan
The United States has released a reward of up to $5 Million for information relating to the Kinahan family or the arrest of the three leaders in the Kinahan group.
Daniel Kinahan has been named as a part of the three men in question that the United States is looking for information on. Kinahan has been a promoter in boxing during this time whilst having ties to the crime group.
It was revealed that sanctions would be put in place against the trio with the US Department of the Treasury stating that appropriate actions need to be taken against these individuals and their businesses.

I think you're massively underestimating how this has escalated with US govt involvement. It will make a massive difference to the Dubai authorities (and that's not even including the huge amount of negative publicity already arising from this latest announcement).maverick23 wrote: ↑12 Apr 2022, 05:42I can’t see Dubai doing anything.Stevieaber wrote: ↑12 Apr 2022, 05:17 UK and Irish governments to make announcements later.

I really hope I’m wrong but I think there’s good reason he’s picked Dubai. UAE have few extradition treaties and he seems to have his feet well under the table there.Deserter wrote: ↑12 Apr 2022, 09:32I think you're massively underestimating how this has escalated with US govt involvement. If Kinahan isn't someone's tout I will eat my mucky shorts. The whole thing has never looked right to me.
Re: BBC Panorama - "Boxing and the Mob"
You never have your feet well under the table in Dubai unless you're a local... you're useful, until you're not. Attracting global attention on this scale at a time where Dubai has played a great hand during the pandemic and continues to position itself as a global finance and logistics hub, as well as a leading tourism destination, is not useful and potentially represents a tipping point.maverick23 wrote: ↑12 Apr 2022, 09:56I really hope I’m wrong but I think there’s good reason he’s picked Dubai. However, even if you park all of this, the game changer is the US getting involved - I'm being slightly tongue in cheek, but Ireland complaining to the UAE about the lack of extradition and harbouring the Kinahans is a bit like getting threatened in a club by Sunny Edwards... The USA getting involved is a bit like Fury, Wilder and Joshua all wanting to have a word...

Hopefully he gets his due. Will be interesting to see what, if anything, happens to MTK and Probellum.

This is gigantic news, we knew something was coming, the Kinahan operation has largely fallen apart on the ground in the Ireland, theyve made an utterly ruthless enemy in the US Government, much more dangerous than any rival gang

The only thing going against him being a tout is the massive fuckuos and enemies he's made along the way, usually someone being handled will be held on a tighter leash, many of his "employees" dealing drugs in Ireland are obviously protected touts, Mr Big for example, I think he's actually smarter than Daniel at this pointjimmystone wrote: ↑12 Apr 2022, 10:09 If Kinahan isn't someone's tout I will eat my mucky shorts.
