A landed punch that causes the fighter to go down is a knockdown. Whether he hit the gloves or not doesn't matter.
I assumed that was the rule too - beating someone to the canvas with blocked shots should count.
so, let's say dudes throw punches at the same time, one guy clips the others guys extended forearmn with a shot and the guy briefly touches down off balance - should those be ruled as kds then?
Yes, if a fighter puts themselves in a position where they are off-balance enough that a punch to the forearm puts him down that's a knockdown.

In that example I would say no.

seems pretty similar to me though. in both cases a shot that doesnt hit a scoring area forces a boxer off balance and to the canvas

oh well, not gonna make a difference here lol

whats so impressive about shak too.............a lot of what he does really isnt all that flashy or advanced. good ol 1-1-2, move. 1-2, move. but with his timing and grasp of distance, he totally flumoxes these guys. the body shots and other power dont even start coming in till later

P4P performance how easy that looked.
Valdez couldn't do ANYTHING. Shak did his thing AND beat Valdez at his own game too.

Shak was great. Got away with pawing though, if he got a hard warning in round 2 when he should of it could of made it a tougher night for him because he does use it effectivly.

Think shak vs any of the top 135s is quality. If he can unify 130 again then fine, but im not looking for any shak 130 mandatory defences...

130 is on the weaker side, he beat clearly the next highest rated fighter. he's so good that i want him to move to 135 straight away, otherwise his road to undisputed is gonna be guys like ogawa........bleh
