Working in retail, every day I see so called poor people spending £10 on fags, the same on cans of lager and a fiver on scratchcards.

Thats £175 a week on shite...

Can i ask how someone is judged to be "so called poor"? Thanks

But I think most people would think of "poor people" as those who live in pretty shoddy council houses, wear old tracksuits and spend the majority of their cash on fags and booze.

Thanks for your thoughts guys. I an struggling. But to you means nothing. I am tired of doing explanations. I am trying so hard. With my mental problems. I cry everyday. I realise how easy it is to take the easy way out. Suicude is not in my thoughts. But with abuse like this . I can see others who are not gonna be so strong . And end up killing themselves. No they dont. Universal credit pays a certain amount of rent. And as my wife works. They take that into account. Sometimes uc paid nothing!!. So could not afford some of the rent or council tax during covid.. And 28 months add up hope that explains why i am in this situation .

That's a mistake, claim you're single and/or seperated.

Cmon man,Eric sounds like a proud man,he has been down all avenues to try and sort something out I doubt he really wanted to end up setting up a page for people to donate to him. If you wanna donate then donate if you don't then don't but don't comb through his out goings and incoming,who are you maggy thatcher? Lol.

I agree with you Gman,I don't really know know Eric,I have asked him stuff in the past and he always answers and I know I wouldn't want my money struggles to be talked about on a boxing forum so it must be tough for the man to even read about it on here,like Gman says,contibute if you want and if you don't then so be it,but don't question the mans lifestyle,none of us on here are angels I'm sure,good luck Eric and I hope you sort things asap.

fornicating hell mate sounds like you're really going through it, try not to withdraw from everybody as in your mind you may feel like a burden and just want to crawl into a corner and die but the clichés are true

Someone mentioned citizens advice, I had a good experience with them after some terrible interactions with people who were supposed to "help" but made me feel worse than ever, the first step is getting in touch with someone who knows how to help and that is hard to get in and of itself, especially if it's financial

I’m sorry it’s fair enough to ask questions. There are a lot of scams around. I once gave £50 to help someone and it was revealed days later as a total scam. It was in the papers. I never got the money back.
And this sounds well dodgy. Just cos he’s a boxing person doesn’t mean he’s trustworthy.

Many people have my details to contact me.. I raised a lot for my diabetes uk charity fight. So its not that i have given so much to others. You dont know me. Anyone that has net me. Will tell you about me..

Has a diabetic , i thank you for your fundraising efforts , i'm on 3 tablets and 4 injections a day plus a weekly injection , I also know diabetes is not has bad has most make out , in fact the more you work and excercise with it the better it gets , mostly its a lazy persons desease , lack of excecise too much weight ect , but you would know that .

Either give it or don’t; no need for jibes or unhelpful criticism by people who do not fully know the circumstances.

He's been a member of this forum for 13 years like me,i'm sure he would see some of the posters on here as friends,give the man a break as Gman says.I've been troubled by stuff and a mate I private message offered to help me and my brother,never met the guy ( yet) but i'd say he's a good mate anyway.

Exactly mate,when people are at their lowest they need words of encouragement not belittled and made to feel liek a bum,on here there are a lot of very good guys who if asked I would help out as much as I possibly could but if the shoe on the other foot and I felt low and came on here and got belittled I would be devastated even though I've never met anyone off here

I've been on shit street before especially when my offspring were kids. Had to go without food to make sure my kids were fed.

We had to sell my wife's engagement ring to feed the kids. I've sold many thing that I needed but they've had to go to provide.

In my opinion and I'm not having a go at anyone asking for help but before that I would look at what I've got and what I need and what I don't need. I've sold all my boxing memorabilia over the years some that I've regretted but they've had to go to feed and buy the kids stuff they e needed, not as rewards but things they've needed to get by. I've let go signed boxing gloves, my treasured signed Tommy Hearns photo and a pencil work Naz drawing that he signed for me. All went to provide.

Again I'm not having a go at anyone but I will tell you as it is, if anyone has been refused anything and a person then asks for help I don't look at that fairly. If anyone has something worth selling but doesn't let things go again I don't look fairly on that, knowing I've had to scrape and beg in my life for help.

I'll give anyone anything, did in Poland, gave over 300 slotties and did a pub whip round for a family I had never seen before in my life.

I give on merit and I give more to those who are prepared to sacrifice themselves.

Life is tough, you have to prepare to fight at some point to get yourself out of the shit you are in.

I don't think people are having a go Eric, we are all fighting to survive. I suffer from mental health I take 4 pills each day for medical problem and prescriptions ain't cheap, my Mrs has asthma and needs 2 different inhalers a month at cost of £18 a month.
