I was of the mind that if Williamson could clip Kelly at any stage of the fight, it would take an abrupt turn. As another poster succinctly put it, Kelly is an "on top" fighter. Look how quickly he folded against Ava.Teddy's Toupee wrote: ↑03 Dec 2022, 11:26I thought it was poor for British level to be honest. Williamson didn't seem to have a clue about feints or setting up his shots and his punches seemed pedestrian. Kelly threw some shocking haymakers and his "elusiveness" was more to do with Williamson's predictability than Kelly's supposed preternatural abibilities. Kelly never beats a solid European level boxer.KiwiRider wrote: ↑02 Dec 2022, 21:40Teddy's Toupee wrote: ↑02 Dec 2022, 19:58
He's getting a proper hiding if he ever gets a crack at a world title. Both of them looked miles away from anything aproaching world-class boxing.
But as a British title fight, it was good. Kelly has already been found wanting at Euro level. He could well some day get the European if Ava drops it.
So that was the factor that kept me focused to the end. And credit to Kelly, he maintained his momentum and shut Williamson out.
